Winter Events

When school resumes after Winter Break, WSA events start back up again as well! Learn more about events that happen in the winter (January through March) via the links and photos below. Please watch for updates and check the calendar, as events are subject to change. Names of current coordinators can be found on our Committee Contacts page.

Movie Night (January)
- Movie Night is a fun social event and fundraiser organized by the WSA. Students and families choose from two movies to watch in either the gym or cafeteria. Marco's Pizza dinner packs are available for purchase as are concessions, including popcorn!
Embrace the World International Festival (February)
- This festival celebrates the incredible diversity within our Whitehills and surrounding community. Families and other community groups host tables with information and items from various cultures, as well as other aspects of diversity, like Black History Month, disability awareness, or adoption awareness. The event also features brief student performances (international songs, traditional dances).
Science Fair (March)
- For the annual Science Fair, students of all grades are invited to conduct a STEM project and present the results with a poster.
Teacher Appreciation Potluck (spring parent-teacher conference time, March)
- As with the fall lunches, these meals are coordinated by the WSA to provide food for our teachers during the very busy week of conferences. Parents sign up to bring dishes based on the lunch theme.
Book Fair (March)
- Similar to the October Book Fair, this event provides an array of great books.
March is Reading Month Author's Visit
- In March 2023, the WSA sponsored a half-day visit from Michigan author Denise Brennan-Nelson. All students were able to meet with her and learn from an author!
